Attended a galla event for the retirement party of employees of District 86. The staff was lovely it was a beautiful atmosphere. The inside was absolutely beautiful great for pictures and the grounds was equally as stunning. All of the staff members were very helpful, friendly and professional. The bar area and the bartender were very nice, personable and the drinks and food was delicious. Definitely a beautiful staple and a gem to the city of Joliet beautiful place to have any ceremony or event.

The Mansion is a beautiful venue that is both grand and comfortable. The buildings and grounds are a real look into gilded age architecture. Many details found in the buildings and grounds are a work of art. That said, a portion of the facilities within the Victorian Ballroom seemed to not be as well maintained as they should for a wedding venue of this scale.
There were noticeable cobwebs/dust through the chapel, lighting fixtures that did not work in multiple locations, and some decor choices that felt like a cheap patch in such a grand facility. Despite those negatives, I found most of the staff to be extremely friendly and accommodating. The servers and bartenders really stood out compared to many other event hosts.
The largest issues with the venue seemed to tied to the management. These individuals came across as very unhelpful. They were also difficult to locate for assistance and had very rude responses when people tried to solve problems themselves. I've attended many large events in similar venues, but had never seen anyone talk to the bridal party the way they did, even going as far as inappropriately addressing the bride immediately before her wedding ceremony.

We got married at Jacob Henry Mansion on December 17. Our ceremony was in the Old Central Church and our reception was in the Victorian Ballroom. Our wedding was absolutely a dream come true. Sarah was our wedding coordinator and we could not say enough good things about her to express how truly incredible she was. We also worked with Sue for our rehearsal and she was also incredibly kind and just so great!
We cannot say anything negative about any of the wonderful ladies we spoke or dealt with at the JJM. They were all so kind and truly just wanted to make sure we had the best and most memorable wedding we could hav. The decorations were everything we imagined and more. We received so many compliments about how beautiful our wedding was and how incredible the food was. The entire experience from staet to end was an amazing one and we highly recommend them. Thank you for making our wedding a day we will never forget and forever cherish.

Well, we came down from Chicago to Joliet for my 4th eldest niece's wedding. It was at 3:00 P.M. on 8-22-20 at this location. It was very beautiful. In the background of the lot was the church where she was married in. When we left our hotel we were stuck in a long line waiting to cross the bridge. My other sister found another way around the bridge.
We didn't know that. But once there we were able to take many photos of this mansion. A very romantic setting. Furniture still there, beds, tables, curtains, fire places. A lot if dark wood. I felt as being in that time period. It's a 2 story mansion, but seemed much larger as we were allowed to see one of the bedroom that the bride stayed in getting ready for her wedding.
Out back there is a small White open gizbo and a small opened room No doors but the D.J. was inside playing music to himself. The bride said she payed for him? We had no idea, we all were listening to the guitarist songs thru out dinner. In a medium sized room we had Appetizers, Salad, then Dinner last was toast's to the couple and. 2 -cake slices.
There was a smaller area where there was an open bar. For the toast they had tiny champagne glasses on each of the tables. Lovely place settings. At the end of the reception it was dancing outside in the small room. It was a lovely 90 degrees outside. Felt like a Summer wedding. We noticed online many come here for their weddings. The staff had masks on and wiped down areas.
We came inside the church wearing our masks. It was for 50 guests we had only 36 guests or less. The groom's family couldn't make it due to COVID-19 and there states were on the banned list. So, they video taped the wedding for them. The grounds were spotless, also quite. Before the sun started to set I was able to take photos of the sunset. They have a parking lot across the street. A very romantic place to be.
