Despite my previous posting, I have been using Hoyt again out of convenience. No longer. I had another driver a couple weeks ago that ignores real time traffic data and refused to use Waze. He said he "doesn't find much use for the Waze app." I really don't like wasting time in traffic and if my car service doesn't require their drivers to take advantage of the incredible data that is now available they are no longer my car service.

This service should be a 5 star NOT 3.5. Others cannot compare to Hoyt.

I've used Hoyt several times now over the past few years for airport travel. Nothing but great experiences. The cars have always been new or like new and immaculate. The drivers have all been on time, professional and their experience is very helpful when it comes to navigating crazy airports. Making reservations has always been flawless. Just a solid company in my experience.

Scheduled a pick up for 11:15PM on a Saturday at LGA. Landed, had no information on the driver. Called both numbers listed in the confirmation, both went to the same voicemail box (for a different number). No call back. After about 15 mins of waiting, and just about giving up to get a Lyft, we got a text from yet another number with our driver's number.

Driver was super confused and seemed to have never done a pickup at LGA. He also was not wearing a mask. Not just not wearing it properly, not wearing it at all. Didn't even appear to have one. Called Hoyt to complain, was told someone would call me back. Still waiting for that. Had used a few times before, but will no longer consider. Poor customer service, poor mask compliance.

What a scam business! One of the driver caused an accident and crashed my car. Provided an expired insurance card on the scene. Promised to pay out of pocket but changed his mind later. The owner denied the whole story and bounced me off. Hoyt Livery does not take any responsibility, dishonest and untrustworthy.

I abandoned Hoyt several year ago as they failed to modernize their process and I was tired of calling grumpy dispatch folks after a flight. Lyft and Uber just showed how outdated Hoyt's offering is. I also HATED that the drivers would not make any attempt to assess traffic on the Merritt and I would get stuck in nighttime construction delays headed back up to New Canaan (back when they were redoing the Merritt). So, I used Hoyt this week owing to Covid concerns and had to chuckle at how little has changed.

I still had to call the grumpy dispatch guy. When the driver arrived at LGA he did enter my address in Waze to my relief. However, he proceeded to ignore the directions as soon as we pulled out of LGA and continued to do so the whole way back. Unbelievable. He refused to get on the Hutch/Merritt saying it was winding, dark and, curiously, "Deer Season". Instead, he went up 95 and we hit delays owing to bridge construction in Westchester which Waze clearly knew about and was routing us away from.

I won't be using them again, even with Covid concerns, as they are much more expensive and offer a poor experience. Lastly, who trains the Hoyt drivers to drive 60 mph in the left hand lane on the Merritt?

My friend had an accident with one of their drivers. The driver begged not get a police report promising they would fix my friend's car. Afterwards they denied the whole thing ever happened. My friend lost 3500. This is the kind of business they run.

My husband and I used Hoyt for the first time last week for a ride from JFK with our two children. After a long flight, we were promptly greeted by our driver in a clean, comfortable SUV. The ride was smooth and our driver, Sam, couldn't have been nicer. We will definitely be using their services again for our next family trip. Thanks Hoyt!

I have been with them for a few years and many trips. While generally quite punctual, the drivers are hit or miss in terms of professionalism and oddly, no water is available. The pickup can be burdensome and confusing as your are asked to first talk to main switchboard operator, then a grouchy dispatcher (sometimes on ten rings) to find out where to meet, which can be ten minutes later. You must retrieve bags before the engage. So this place is fine, punctual but has its quicks and volatility for sure.

Hoyt limo has provided me with great service in trips to and from JFK airport. They have been always on time and courteous even extremely early in the morning. My driver, Steve K, has always been awesome. I would recommend him and Hoyt without question.

We recently used their service for a round trip to JFK airport. The first driver arrived 15 minutes early and loaded our luggage and we left. There was a bit of traffic on I-95 (no surprise) so the few extra minutes were appreciated. The driver was courteous and unloaded our luggage for us at the airport. As for the return trip there is nothing better then relaxing in a limo after a long flight.

We called from the luggage pick up and he was outside within 5 minutes. Overall I was very satisfied with the service and would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to others.

I have used other limo services before and it seem there was always a problem on the return so I tried Hoyt and couldn't be happier our flight was delayed and upon arrival at JFK and waiting to retrieve our suitcases for 1.5 hrs only to learn that the airline lost the luggage our limo driver was still waiting for us Very professional and reliable

Always super dependable. Took them on Thanksgiving week and they were at the terminal in less than 3 min. amid the chaos of JFK. I always get a great friendly driver and a clean "rattle free" car. I've been using them for years and the service has never wavered.

As a long term customer of Hoyt livery, I have had the pleasure of talking with the owners several times. I am a customer of several of their other businesses as well. I am shocked by these reviews, and in fact, do not believe them. These people are the salt of the earth and go out of their way to accommodate customers. Their customers are their highest priority. I actually go out of my way to use their services.

We used Hoyt for our trip down to JFK Airport and back home to New Canaan. The service was faultlessly perfect. We especially appreciate the way they made our life so easy at the Jet Blue pick-up area. I look forward to using Hoyt much more in the future. Highly recommended!

My company has been using Hoyt for the past 5 years to go to and from the New York airports from Connecticut. Though I see that there are a number of negative reviews, I have never had an issue with them, nor have any of my employees. The drivers are friendly, knowledgable, professional and prompt. The cars are always clean, stocked with water and snacks, and the service is terrific! I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Great experience with Hoyt.from the early arrival for pickup to JFK, and same on the return. Amazingly, my return flight landed 25 minutes early.called when I got off the plane, they directed me to pickup point.and there they were, waiting. Would recommend to all.

I've used Hoyt in the past. They were on time and dependable. I reached out via their website to try to get a quote for an airport ride. I inadvertently booked a car. I got a confirmation email and IMMEDIATELY called AND emailed that it was an error and I was only looking for fare price. I got a threatening email two weeks later that they are "taking me to the police for theft of services" because they sent a car. I will NEVER use or recommend them again. Consumer beware.

Terrible experience. Hired for shuttle service for my daughter's wedding. Arrived late at the get go. Caused ceremony to be 30 minutes late. Left guests stranded after the event. I even wrote a letter. Never heard a word back. They just don't care. Horrid way to run a business. DO NOT USE THEM. Too many other great driving services out there.

We had been using Hoyt for several months. My husband travels a lot for his job, and we gave them consistent business. Recently his flight was canceled and he wasn't notified until an hour and a half before the Hoyt driver was to arrive at the house. He promptly called the dispatcher to cancel and reschedule for the next day. THEY STILL CHARGED US FOR THE TRIP EVEN THOUGH THE DRIVER NEVER SHOWED UP AT THE HOUSE (because he clearly got the message the flight was canceled). It was not like my husband just decided he didn't want to use them - the flight was canceled! My husband promptly found another limo service. We will never use them again.

I should have heeded the bad reviews, but needed a car pickup for a friend at JFK and didn't know companies here. Despite giving clear directions to the company on bringing them to our house, the driver didn't pay attention. My friend had the same directions and kept pointing to our street saying 'that must be it', as he kept going in circling.

After the 3rd time of passing our road, my friend had to get super cross with him saying to just let her out! Bad enough the driver doesn't have a clue, but with poor listening skills on top, it was a nightmare! Rip off, poor service.

If i could leave zero stars i would. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I am very easy going, yet this company crossed the line when they left me voicemails suggesting I stole someone's identity, am guilty of fraud, and as a result "will have my a$s handcuffed and thrown in jail" all due to a billing error on their end, in which they mistakenly tied someone else's credit card to my account.

Instead of sending me an invoice, or alerting me to their billing error, they immediately began leaving me aggressive phone messages. When one (I repeat with no exaggeration, ONE) business day passed without me returning their call, i received the nastiest and threatening voicemail from their owner. Please choose a different provider for your transportation needs.

I would not recommend this service. I paid $188 for a trip from New Canaan to NYC. Driver does not open the door for you at all. When I requested that the "included gratuity" be returned to me because the door was not opened for me once (out of three opportunities), I was told that "this is not Hoyt Slavery Service." Unbelievable rudeness.

I called to cancel a reservation 2 days in advance. The representative was very rude and didn't even allow me to finish my sentence before putting me on hold and then hanging up 2-3 seconds later. I would not recommend this business to anybody unless this is the type of service they expect from a company charging over $150 for airport transportation.
