I am not one to complain (this is literally my first bad review of something, ever). But I am so disappointed with our experience with brown county weddings. We chose to stay in suite 1 which is very nice. I was so excited when we arrived and impressed by how beautiful the room was. My only complaint was the water pressure (it was practically nonexistent) and the water took about 5 minutes to heat up. However, this is something that I looked past and didn't care too much about.
My issue is with the wedding venue. I had very minimal interactions with those in charge of the wedding prior to the big day. It was difficult to get in contact with anyone about the wedding arrangements but I looked past this and understood that they aren't always on the property. Up until the wedding everything was going smoothly. We had some miscommunication the day of regarding how we could use our time at the venue.
I went with the elderberry package which allowed for 75 minutes. My mom, who was afraid of impeding on the wedding before us, asked our guest to arrive 30 minutes after our time started. There was a $250 fine if we interrupted someone else's wedding before ours so she wanted to play it safe by having people arrive 30 minutes later (still with the intention of only using 75 minutes we paid for).
This was an issue and the officiant who was helping us was extremely rude about it and rushed us the whole time. She told my mother and I both that we "should've communicated better" however I feel as though it was her responsibility to communicate how everything will work (that is literally her JOB!). I understand that we could have asked but if there was any restrictions on how we could use our time, that should have been communicated prior to the day of.
Come to find out, I was the only wedding that day and I can't seem to understand why I was so rushed when I had 75 minutes. I had multiple guest express how rude the officiant was to them. My mom was almost in tears by the way she was treated. My sister in law simply asked her "is this where the wedding ceremony is?" and she very rudely replied, "well obviously it is." I cannot imagine treating anyone this way ESPECIALLY people who paid a lot of money to be there for a very special and important day.
I am completely embarrassed. We were rushed the whole time. I didn't even get the chance to use the bridal room (once again, that I paid for!) because of how rushed we were. We fortunately had our own officiant for the ceremony itself which lasted about 10 minutes. The ceremony lasted a whole TEN minutes of our hour and 15 minutes and we were rushed the whole time.
So ridiculous. I am so happy we made the decision to have our own officiant though. We quickly took pictures after our ceremony and when we were leaving the photographer expressed how she usually didn't like when people brought in their own officiant but ours was "okay" (excuse me, WHAT?!? I paid for it?). I am so upset that this was our experience on our wedding day.
I am literally writing this the night of my wedding because I just can't get over how we were treated. I would absolutely recommend staying at the suites but would not recommend having a wedding here. Weddings are a lot of stress on everyone involved and the last thing anyone needs is the staff being unprofessional and rude. Nobody should feel guilty to ask people to do the job that they were hired to do (and that you paid for!).

We were a little disappointed with our stay here. We passed by this place upon our arrival. Outside lighting was very poor. Glad I keep a flashlight in my car. The fireplace was underwhelming as seen in the picture it was electric candles. The lights for the bathroom were outside the door. My husband was trying to turn room lights off/on an mistakenly turning them off in the bathroom.
Thin walls I could hear people next to us talking. No guide for the television. Housekeeping was contacted by text which was ok & they did respond. Bed was comfortable. The building appears to need some upkeep, broken bricks & crumbling cement sidewalks. Door to our shared area had a broken lock. Made us question safety. Although our door did lock. I feel we could have been just as comfortable in an area lodge and maybe felt a bit more safe.

Overall not bad. booking was easy, however changing dates was not. Called to speak with someone but no one on property and no call back. Room was nice overall, little lacking on privacy as bed was right next to door. But they have other rooms where don think an issue. AC had issues keeping up, but might have been from hot tub humidity. Water pressure was not good in sink or shower and took 5+ mins to warm up Location was good and never seen or dealt with anyone (other guest or staff)

The grounds were beautiful, and it looked like a good place for a destination wedding. The entire party could stay in a beautiful, wooded setting. There was room for around 40 people for a close inside wedding, and around 60 people for a lakeside wedding on a pretty beach. That said, we used it as a "hotel" room and feel like we significantly overpaid.
It had a hot tub in the room, but it was just dropped right beside the bed. There was minimal storage for clothing, so we had bags and clothes on the chair and laying in the corner. Towels were very small. Also, when we got there, the room was frigid because the heater had an error. We reported it and were told to use the electric fireplace instead. They didn't fix it while we were there (3 days).

I have been wanting to stay at Yellowwood suites for years now. The pictures advertised make it seem so modern and inviting and the grounds looked beautiful. The room was not as clean as I would expect. The shower wasn't even clean beneath the dispensers which is very visible and the tile/grout was disgusting between the toilet and wall. There were long black hairs all over the white couch that was in the room upon us arriving.
The hot tub was the worst. It smelled so badly of mildew when we took the cover off. The jets probably haven't been cleaned in a very long time (if ever). It was hardly relaxing with the awful smell. There was dust on most surfaces and even cobwebs in corners. There is so much potential for this property but it is lacking in upkeep. The grounds were not as manicured as the photos portray.
The setting is beautiful behind the building, but it would be a lot more appealing if staff would maintain the property better. We did not take advantage of the outside area aside from walking around a couple times because of the sewage smell. We stayed in room 11 which has very poor lighting as you walk around the building to get to the room. The location is convenient but I did not expect it to be right on a main busy highway.
