In 1907, the Loose Mansion was masterfully designed by Ella and Jacob Loose to host Kansas City's most exquisite affairs. Members of the Loose Mansion staff and contractors have experienced some unexplained happenings with lights, sounds, music, a window being repeatedly open, and motion detectors going off. which we like to attribute to our fun loving ghosts. We've also had a few guests, including a lovely bride at the end of her reception, tell us they have seen or felt their presence.
We provide an alternative approach to planning and executing events. Our team will help you orchestrate your beautiful, personalized celebration from beginning to end. All event necessities, wedding coordination, staffing, and our incredibly delicious in-house catering are included. What a wonderful experience - start to finish! As the mother of the bride, and as someone who has helped plan many weddings, I was impressed with the organization, attention to detail and excellent communication from the Loose Mansion staff. Our daughter and now son-in-law chose the venue for its beauty, accessibility, turn-key decorating, excellent food and drink options and for the carriage house accommodations next door.
Loose Mansion delivered all these things and more! I cannot overstate how hard the staff at the mansion worked so that the bride and groom, their wedding party and family could simply be present and enjoy the day. Having our wedding at Loose Mansion was by far and above the best decision we made. I really don't even know how to express my gratitude to Barbara, Abbey C., Abby D., and the entire staff at Loose Mansion for making our wedding day so special. They were incredible to work with every step of the way, and I can't recommend them enough to anyone looking for a stunning wedding venue with AMAZING food, beautiful decor, and such a wonderful, friendly staff. MULTIPLE guests even reached out post-wedding to tell us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, and I couldn't agree more. The best decision we made was to have our wedding at Loose Mansion. Both Abbey C., and Abby D, were very happy to help us answer all of our questions before we even had our day hold. They made everything seem smoother and easier. Super flexible and was always there for us. We had to plan most of our wedding remotely since I wasn't in town and Loose Mansion made it feel just like I was there all the time.
They sent us detailed videos and we did zoom calls to make all decisions. They gave us recommendation for vendors which was very helpful. The planning was very smooth, and the wedding day was as smooth as the planning, both Abbey C., and Abby D were welcoming our guests and making sure that no one needs anything. The venue's setting were exactly how we wanted them to be, and the food was amazing, and all of our guest loved it. Getting married at the Loose Mansion is something I highly recommend.

Loose Mansion is the supreme wedding venue in Kansas City. The staff, ambiance, history, decor, food, and location make it the perfect spot to tie the knot. Abby and Abbey were GREAT. Management was quick to respond and prompt to handle all of our requests. The planning process was properly discussed and stress free. My wife and I could not have asked for a better experience, truly the perfect venue for a perfect day.

Loose Mansion is a beautiful venue. We had our wedding ceremony here. It has charm and history and does not require a lot of florals or decor to make it look stunning. Most importantly, the staff are super courteous, accommodating and helpful. Abby DeBoutez was our coordinator, she arranged everything on short notice, worked with us through many last minute changes and was lovely to work with the entire time. Barbara Saathoff is the owner and I believe she sets the tone for the rest of her staff with her work ethic and flexibility. Ours was not a traditional ceremony and yet Abby and Barbara were accommodating, tolerant and so gracious without prejudice and made it a world of a difference for us on our special day. 10/10 would recommend Loose Mansion for anyone's special day or family events.

Had my wedding ceremony here in Oct 2021. I absolutely loved the venue, it came to life on the day of the ceremony and looked stunning. Abby DeBoutez and Barbara Saathoff were incredible to work with. They took care of everything on short notice, were incredibly flexible and most importantly they were gracious and warm despite our wedding being a unconventional, South Asian wedding with loud guests! They were respectful of all our cultural differences and accomodating of all our (unusual) requests. So grateful that I had my day here with such an incredible team!

Loose Mansion is the former home of one of the Sunshine Biscuit founders. Being from out of town, I was completely unaware of the space or family. The mansion become one of our things to do while in the area. Our visit to this historic home was due to a wedding. The ground floor was elegantly decorated. Lots of soft candle light. Rich wood gives the space a regal feel.
Along with weddings, this would be a fantastic venue for a roaring 20's party. Two additional floors are located upstairs. The middle floor is primarily where the wedding parties ready themselves/wait. That floor is less formal. In the space are some pieces of memorabilia from the Sunshine company. Included are some rather ornate cracker tins.
The top floor has a ballroom. Ballroom also has space for a bar. This is another refined space. Between the wedding ceremony and dinner, guests were sent to the basement for hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The basement has a different vibe. Murals of old time towns adorn the walls. The seating area almost has a wine tasting vibe. A brochure available for guests as a scavenger hunt in it.

TL;DR - If you're planning a wedding, a small corporate event, a family reunion, a class reunion, or any other kind of event that requires catering, coordination, and other resources, give Loose Mansion a call. You won't regret it. Honestly, Loose Mansion is by far the most underrated small event space and venue in the entire metro area, especially for weddings.
My wife and I recently held our wedding there, and after having done wedding photography for 11 years, it was honestly one of the most seamless, effortless weddings I've ever been involved with in any capacity. First off, the venue itself is gorgeous and well-kept. It practically decorates itself, and if you're any fan of the series Downton Abbey, this building will appeal to your aesthetic (if Kansas City had a version of The Breakers mansion built by the Vanderbilts in Rhode Island, it would be Loose Mansion).
It's evocative of a bygone era, but has all the modern appointments one could need for any event. Second, the venue can provide you with nearly everything you'd ever need to put on a wedding: food, booze, photos, sound/media/DJ equipment, staff, coordination, all of it. While we only ended up utilizing their in-house catering options, being able to rely on the staff for setup, tear-down, and coordination across the board was invaluable.
The food was **incredible** across the entire menu, and I highly recommend using it because you'll get more for your money with that option than you will with any other caterer. One thing that stuck out to me about the building itself was the vast number of bathrooms it has (literally over a dozen of them across several floors). Third, the venue itself is in an area that's quite conveniently located (close to Westport, the Plaza, and even downtown), which made getting places around the wedding weekend much, much easier for everyone involved.
Parking was not an issue at all, as their lot was large enough to accommodate everyone with space leftover for more if we needed it. Finally, above all, the expenditure for all of this was well worth it in the end. We paid far less to have more organization and a better overall experience than we probably would've received at any other venue, and with other vendors for the various wedding aspects combined. And this was all in the midst of a pandemic, with only 4 months of planning.

We couldn't have been more pleased with Loose Mansion and their staff. Abby was wonderful to work with all the way through. She was kind, responsive, helpful, flexible and 100% about walking alongside Adrienne, making her wedding the most special day ever. Of course the venue is gorgeous and then it was made even more so with the flowers that our florist was allowed to bring in.
The food was delicious (more red sauce on the cannelloni, please) and plentiful. From initial planning to clean up, the Loose staff was fabulous and we wouldn't hesitate to give them the highest rating possible!

My daughter & her husband were married at a small destination wedding in March of '20 as the pandemic took over the world. Originally they had planned a reception at Loose Mansion for May of '20. That was postponed to Aug of '20 and then postponed again to Sept of '21. It was a great success at that time! Loose Mansion was very cooperative in working with us as we navigated these changes in scheduling.
They also did a superb job of handling all of the details (both big & small) involved in hosting an event for 100 or more guests for a sit-down dinner. The Mansion is an incredibly beautiful venue with a very professional staff. It isn't necessary to hire a wedding planner when you can work with their event planners. Many of our guests complimented us on the delicious food, beautiful decor and first class wait staff. We highly recommend this venue!

Loose Mansion is beautiful inside and out. The staff helped us plan everything, and they were professional and flexible. It meant the world to us, especially during these times. We had a perfect, stress-free day, largely in part to their phenomenal staff. The in-house baker and photographer are amazing people! (Everyone there is.) They responded to our questions quickly, and helped out so much. I cannot thank them enough for the perfect memories we will hold onto forever.

The Loose Mansion was the perfect venue for our Big Day. The mansion looked great with decorations, the food was delicious, and the bar was flowing. The staff was professional, prompt and catered to our requests. Loose Mansion offers to handle all those little details with decorating, setup, tear down, staging, etc., that you don't have to worry about.
That is a huge plus to have so many details taken care of and you get pick in the initial meeting. The price was very fair for the value we received. Start to finish we had an incredible experience planning our wedding reception to Loose Mansion. Barbara, Abby, Karen, and the whole team are incredibly professional, kind, and helpful. They truly strive to make your experience with them feel personal and I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for a venue space in Kansas City. I loved that they offer in house decorations for your tables.
The venue is beautiful enough as is, but it really takes a huge wedding planning task off of your plate not to have to worry about food or decorations as it is all done there. The food and drinks were amazing and we received lots of compliments! But the real highlight of the venue is the staff. Planning a wedding in the midst of COVID-19 was challenging but the staff was always on top of the latest regulations and changes.
They even helped us make adjustments when travel restrictions kept family from being able to make it in to town and we had to change seating plans the week of the wedding. All in all an amazing venue for a wedding or any party! And as an added bonus they have an amazing staircase for photos!

Our daughter just had the wedding of her dreams at Loose Mansion. The staff was more than attentive to all planning details. The guests are still calling to say how much they enjoyed the food and the ambience. I appreciated the fact that as an "all inclusive" facility I had a stress free week leading up to the wedding. There is not enough that I could ever say to capture the perfection of this venue. I joked that the Loose Mansion team provided us with an "all-inclusive" wedding, but it is very true - they have every detail down to a fine art that removed a lot of stress from us during planning and especially the day of. Loose Mansion is everything we could've wanted in a wedding venue. It brings elegance that is truly timeless, yet has a warm charm that keeps it from being too traditional and stuffy. The staff is amazingly responsive and excellent at anticipating your needs and keeping track of all the important details. Since the venue also functions as the coordinator, caterer, has their own stock of rental chairs/tables/linens, and an entire room of decor for you to peruse and select from, it cuts down on the total number of vendors you need, which means fewer lines of communication to keep track of, and overall less stress. The food is delicious and there is a large selection of dishes to select from. Would book again without hesitation.

This historic and gorgeous mansion-turned-event space is one of the top venues in the City of Fountains! My wife and I attended a holiday party hosted by my employer last night at the Loose Mansion, and the beautiful venue was the subtle jewel of the entire evening! Located in one of the most historic neighborhoods in Kansas City, Missouri, the mansion wears a humble, albeit very large, exterior, befitting of the period it was built. However, once you step inside, the wow factor is turned up to 11! Mr. Loose's wife wanted a house that was ready for entertaining, and she most certainly achieved her goal!
Our evening was themed "Old Hollywood", with hosts, performers and supporting staff all decked out in charming period costume. We were welcomed into the mansion and directed to the "speakeasy" downstairs for cocktails, and then ushered to the first floor for dinner. The dining room featured high ceilings, gorgeous pillars and moldings, and many warm, grand fireplaces.
After a filling supper and live jazz band, we were welcome to the second floor which had games, pictures, more drinks and. Marilyn Monroe! It also featured more gorgeous interior architecture and fixtures. Even the staircases were elegant and grand! For the last portion of our event, we went up to the top floor and partied the night away to music, lights, lazers and dancing!
Of small logistical note: there was a large parking lot directly west of the mansion that offered plentiful parking for our party of approximately 200. If you're looking for an amazing venue for any kind of event that features a gorgeous, historic piece of Kansas City, you HAVE to check out the Loose Mansion!

As event places and spaces go this has to be at the top of the list in Kansas City for a medium size event. I'm not sure what the capacity is, maybe a couple of hundred people. But all the different spaces are good for mingling and exploring. Different floors have their own bars. Even a couple patios if the weather is nice. It's a unique place and perfect for a special event that you want to remember forever.

Loose Mansion was the best decision I made for my wedding. Prior to booking Loose Mansion things were not going so well. I had family trying to 'help' and sending me 'great' ideas for the wedding and providing details on how my now husband and I should do things. But it wasn't us and it wasn't what we wanted. Once we booked at the Mansion our team sat down with us and planned every detail.
They helped us talk through our ideas and make sure the big day was going to be something that we could enjoy. They handled all the setup, room flip, cooking, bar tending and clean up. They allowed our day to be something that we could enjoy along with our parents, friends and extended family instead of making our loved ones haul boxes of wedding decorations to and from a venue.
Not only is the staff amazing but Loose Mansion itself was absolutely gorgeous. Our wedding pictures simply take my breath away between all the ornate wood and chandeliers. The entry way took some of the best family photos because everyone could stand at a different level. Finally I have to mention the food. We did a brunch buffet and everything was delicious and beautiful. Overall I wouldn't change a thing. Loose Mansion was the success behind my wedding day.

Not only is Loose Mansion beautiful and historic, it is also impeccably run and second to none! I chose it for it's charm and I was blown away by the staff's professionalism, efficiency, and patience. We enjoyed the tasting night and were given ample time to craft our menu. We decided upon a selection of warm and cold appetizers including artichoke phyllo cups and prosciutto wrapped melon to serve during our cocktail hour.
Next we served an incredible pasta buffet for our big eaters, and midnight minis of chicken and waffles for our big drinkers;) All courtesy of the in house chefs and for an entirely reasonable price! Speaking of drinkers, the bartenders were professional and attentive, just like the main event team! My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with Felicia's incredible service and the excellent expertise that was offered by Brad. Genuinely, we are so grateful for the way they handled the mishaps (yes, there will be mishaps) during our big day.
No one brought problems to me, such our two people show up without having sent in RSVPS or that my uncle spilled an entire glass of red wine on our cake table! The team just handled it, silently and professionally, without fanfare. I was so grateful to have them to handle our drunk guests, also. Beers bottles were spilt and people got sick (yes, this is real life) and we got taken care of as if were weren't a bunch of hooligans! I'm telling you, you want a good team around you when you have a friends and family mash up like ours!

Came here as a wedding guest recently. This place is breathtakingly beautiful and filled to the brim with little details that make your jaw drop over and over. The intricately carved stair railings, the crown molding, the floors, the ceilings, the marble, everything is just so classy. The food was amazing. The service was plentinful but you never seemed to be tripping over them either. Overall a very classy wedding and location we'll never forget.
