This place is open by appointment/ reservation only. My fiance and I were there today to make a payment towards our wedding date. The owner is sweet and has been amazing thus far. Our wedding is a ways out, but the owner is always making sure all our questions are answered. Can't wait til the day we get married there! UPDATE: We're actually broken up now.
And I doubt I'll see a penny of the refund, which doesn't even count the $3,000 deposit. But you guys didn't respond to our emails and phone calls for months before we broke up. And as a local commuter, keeping the marquee saying the same event for weeks to months on end is kind of tacky. It's like, wow, that wedding was two months ago and the board hasn't changed.

They've done a great job renovating this place. My friend had her wedding here and they did such a great job with it. Everyone seemed really professional and friendly. The interior is so nice and bright with great decor and the landscaping is very well maintained. It is such a beautiful spot for an intimate wedding.

Mark West Event Center: Under new ownership! This is the perfect wedding venue in Sonoma County! Their back lawn with a rock wall made a perfect backdrop for our ceremony. Inside the facility has been recently remodeled and the ballroom made for a lovely reception room. They also have a bar area, wraparound deck, garden, bocce ball courts, and full kitchen for your catering needs.
Our guests loved the wedding and even our vendors (DJ, wedding planner) all mentioned what a great venue MWEC was! The building itself has history and is charming. All the rooms photograph well, and the onsite bridal suite/grooms room made getting ready a fun part of the event. Our wedding was so beautiful and fun and most of all EASY! Thank you again to the amazing team at Mark West Event Center!

I recently attended a Christmas event here. I give a rate to the events coordinator Emma Giomi. She is great with decor and table settings details. I saw her a few times throughout the evening and she had great customer service. Emma sets a standard of excellence! I'm looking forward to working with her in the future.

We had our wedding here in December 2019, and it was utterly ahhhmazing. The bar is such a fun vocal point, but there are SO many other areas if you are not a lush. The grounds are beautiful, and the building is so versatile. We had our own suite to get ready in and a window to watch the happenings outside. This secret gem is to die for. The people you work with are a blast. Emma and Alberto were not fazed by my girls and I being complete goons all over the place. They took the best care of us on our big day, sharing many laughs. I cannot express enough how happy we were here. BOOK THEM!

Mark West Event Center was by far the best choice we could have made for our wedding! We looked at so many Venues and it just did not feel right. Until we met Emma and Alberto at Mark West, they made us feel like family, and we just knew we could trust them with making this perfect. Avoid the headaches and drama of this beautiful venue. Like some other reviews, I wanted to wait until my daughter's dream wedding was over to write my review. I have worked in both customer service and healthcare for my entire adult life, and was frankly shocked at how badly the owner/wedding planner (Marina) performed. Weeks would go by with no response to emails, until it was time for the next installment.
The phone number on the venue website was disconnected, after already paying $22,000. Both of the "substitute" wedding planners quit because they were not paid. The last of which was last Wednesday evening, before Saturday's wedding! The cake and shuttle that were "part of the package", were forgotten. What should've been one of the most magical moments for my family, instead became a stressful nightmare.
After all of this, there was no explanation nor apology. I am grateful that, in spite of Marina's unprofessional and poor behavior, it was a beautiful wedding. I am also grateful that both of my son-in-laws are attorneys. This should've never happened. Do not choose this venue.

I wish I could give 0 stars for Marina's lack of professionalism and communication. I was married at MWL this past weekend and despite having a great day and beautiful wedding, most of that was due to the venue and my hard work crafting what I wanted my wedding to look like. All of our other vendors were fantastic and had nothing to do with MWL. My husband and I chose MWL because we live 2 hours away, so we wanted something fairly all inclusive. HAHAHA.
We showed up for our food tasting, which we emailed multiple times to confirm (and never heard back), after driving all that way, only to find she wasn't there. She managed to inform the caterer that she needed to reschedule, but didn't tell us, so we waited and waited and waited, giving up after an hour.she still hasn't apologized. If you own a business.do better.
And if you are incapable of doing better, hire someone that is. MARINA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, YOUR SPOUSE, YOUR FAMILY OR YOUR WEDDING. She literally wouldn't answer my emails, texts, or calls days before the wedding. Our wedding coordinator bailed 2 DAYS before the wedding because Marina didn't pay her and wouldn't return her emails or texts. Do I seriously need to find a wedding coordinator right before my wedding!? Yes, I did and I'm still livid about it.
Our florist also mentioned that Marina wouldn't answer any of her call or emails. Don't worry though, she will make sure to email you when you owe her money. Marina also lied to me multiple times throughout the planning process. She claimed the person filling in for her on the day of our wedding would have access to the email account for responding, was informed of all our wedding details and that everything was handled. Lies.
All lies. I wish no one the amount of stress she caused my family and I. Please don't think for one second that you will be treated any differently. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt multiple times, but she failed every. single. time. Her staff were great for the day of, I wish we could have planned the wedding with one of them instead. I'm not one for writing reviews, but in this case, I really don't want anyone else to go through this. Planning your wedding should be fun, but Marina managed to squash that pretty quickly once we signed the contract. Don't get married here.

My wife and I were set to get married here to the tune of $10,000. Contact was sparse and often muddled, with Marina(the owner) missing multiple appointments with vendors and often providing only short and vague answers. We struggled through all of this up until the week of our wedding, the week of the worst fire in Santa Rosa history. All of our vendors offered postponement or cancellation and were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. Marina, on the other hand, was obtuse and elusive in her emails with us.
After we demanded a refund she claimed she would be in touch with us after speaking with her insurance and lawyer(her property only experienced minor issues from the fires, loss of power etc.) Then, nothing. We attempted to call, email. Nothing. We have since been forced to take legal matters and it has been nearly a year. One thing is clear, the owners are in over their heads and do not know how to run a business. Just know when you sign their contract your money has already been spent.
